Features

The Group's objective is to develop technological research for the design and manufacture of electronic components and related materials, as well as to provide services and support to the industrial sector. Within these objectives, the Group primarily carries out the following activities:

  • Production, design, and manufacturing of circuits and components for research projects carried out by scientific institutions and organizations, public research bodies, universities, etc.
  • Participation, as an associate, in national and international research projects.
  • Development of microelectronic products and services, sensors, components, and related materials.
  • Design and production of analog and digital circuits.
  • Experimental and industrial contributions to training programs developed by other organizations and institutions.
  • Leasing of cleanrooms for activities of industrial or scientific interest compatible with the purpose of the Group.
  • Any other activities that, being a prerequisite or consequence of the above, are in any case auxiliary economic activities to those carried out by the members of the Group.

D+T Microelectrónica A.I.E. was established in 1995 to manage the commercial operation of the micro- and nanofabrication cleanroom located at the headquarters of the National Microelectronics Center in Barcelona: the Institute of Microelectronics of Barcelona (IMB-CNM). The CNM cleanroom (SBCNM) is one of Spain's Unique Scientific and Technological Facilities (ICTS), the only one of its kind. It is dedicated to the development and application of technologies in the field of nano- and microelectronics. Since 2014, together with the cleanrooms of the Institute of Optoelectronic Systems and Microtechnology of the Polytechnic University of Madrid (ISOM-UPM) and the University Institute of Nanophotonics Technology of the Polytechnic University of Valencia (NTC-UPV), it has been part of the MICRONANOFABS ICTS network supported by the Ministry of Science and Innovation (MICINN).

The SBCNM is a 1500 m² facility, class 100/1000 (ISO 5/6), which includes more than 150 high-tech instruments and equipment. An additional 4500 m² are dedicated to the services necessary for the operation of the facility, and 250 m² house the encapsulation (class 1000, ISO 6) and electrical characterization laboratories.

The entity's activities are carried out in synergy with those of the IMB-CNM, CSIC, where ten research groups pursue their lines of research, developing cutting-edge technologies for applications in the medical, industrial, and social fields, as well as in scientific experimentation. The center has accumulated thirty years of knowledge and experience, the results of which form the basis of the know-how that the company applies in the development of its products and services.

D+T's mission is to provide solutions based on innovative and effective microelectronic technologies to industry and scientific research, to improve the quality of existing industrial products, participate in the development of new ones, and enable the discovery or demonstration of scientific knowledge useful to humanity.
